About this model

M2.5 1:40 Worm Gear Set (model WORM-M2.5-R40) is a standard item in the KEDI Worm Gears range, with Module 2.5; Ratio 1:40; Worm Starts 1; Wheel Teeth 40. It is produced to drawing and standard, inspected for dimensions and hardness before shipment, and can be supplied alone or as a matched set with mating transmission parts. Material, heat treatment, bore and surface finish can be adapted to the application.

Material & process

Material	C45 / S45C carbon steel, 42CrMo alloy steel, stainless steel; cast iron or aluminium for pulleys; nylon for light-duty racks
Heat treatment	Quenching and tempering, induction hardening of teeth, carburising for high-load gears
Tooth finish	Hobbed or milled standard; shaved or ground for higher accuracy grades
Surface	Black oxide, zinc plating, phosphating or natural finish with anti-rust oil
Custom options	Bore and keyway, set-screw holes, hub length, helix hand, mounting holes and lengths to drawing

Tooth profile, pitch and runout checked on CMM for precision parts
Hardness verified after heat treatment
Bore, keyway and hole positions checked with gauges
Cumulative pitch error and straightness checked on precision racks

How to select

Check transmitted torque and speed to choose material and heat treatment.
